Bringing your child to the dentist from the earliest age possible will help reduce the chances of them feeling anxious when they are older.
Believe it or not, as soon as their first tooth pops through you should be cleaning it, and it's good practice to bring them to your appointments from then on too. It will get them used to the dentists' environment and show them there is nothing to be fearful of. We can then check that their gums are healthy and their teeth are developing as normal. We can also advise on how to brush them properly too.
Children under 4 years old are automatically covered under your care plan. There are also plans for older children up to 18 years old too.
Make sure to brush your own teeth in front of, or with your child. Developing good oral hygiene habits early will set them up for good dental health in the long term. Although they may not thank you for it now... try to limit the sugar, especially before bedtime when acid levels in the mouth can spike.
